Who we are
LearnAlbanian (“we”) provides one-on-one online Albanian lessons. We are based in Toronto, Canada and work with teachers in Albania. Contact: info@learnalbanian.com, +1 (844) 912-3831.
What we collect and why
- Booking a free assessment: your name, email, phone number and time zone, through our scheduling provider TidyCal, so we can hold the slot, send the Google Meet link and reminders, and contact you about the lesson.
- Lessons: the student’s name, age range and learning goals, lesson notes written by the teacher, and attendance. Lessons run on Google Meet and are recorded; recordings exist so parents can review their child’s lessons and so we can resolve disputes. Recordings are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
- Billing: card details are entered directly with our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store the full card number. We keep invoices and payment records for 7 years as required by tax law.
- Teacher applications: the details and CV you submit, kept while the application is open and for 12 months afterwards, then deleted.
- Website: standard server logs (IP address, pages visited) for security, kept for 30 days. We do not run advertising trackers.
Children
Many of our students are children. A parent or guardian books and manages every child account, is present or available during lessons, and can watch any recording from their account. We collect only what the lesson needs and never market directly to children.
Who sees your data
Your teacher (name, goals, notes, recordings of their own lessons), our scheduling provider (TidyCal), our video provider (Google Meet and Google Drive for recordings), our payment provider (Stripe) and our email provider. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, by emailing info@learnalbanian.com. We answer within 30 days. Residents of the EU, UK and Canada have these rights under GDPR, the UK GDPR and PIPEDA; we extend them to everyone.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email active students before the change takes effect.
